Reproduction Works of Art.

John Augustus Third Earl of Briston.

While looking for a few reproduction antiques I came across this site that deals in reproduction art works of the likes of Frank Dicksee, Thomas Gainsborogh, John Godward, Frans Hals, to name a few.

The painting above is by Thomas Gainsborogh, Born 1727, died 1788. In 1784 he finally broke with the Academy after they refused to hang another Royal portrait as he wished. Instead he began to hold annual exhibitions of his work at Schomberg House.

If you happen to be the owner of a stately manor, and do not have portraits of ancestors you would like to hang on the walls, give these guys a try. You can visit them here http://www.rubycavalierfinearts.com/index.htm. They also have works of art on Ebay that you may purchase as well. http://stores.ebay.co.uk/Ruby-Cavalier-Fine-Art. I’m thinking of bidding on The 11th Hussar by Frank Edward Fell, and The Grenadier by same artist. They are worth the look, never know what you may find at a decent price.
